Rare 1933 TippCo Graf Zeppelin DLZ 127 Tin Toy


LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin was a German passenger-carrying, hydrogen-filled rigid airship that flew from 1928 to 1937. It offered the first commercial transatlantic passenger flight service.

This is a very rare beautiful Tippco "Graf Zeppelin" Airship clockwork tin toy. Made of lithographed tinplate with engine detail, lower tinplate gondola and large yellow painted propeller driven by a clockwork mechanism.

"Graf Zeppelin DLZ 127” printed on sides. Marked “Made in Germany” in Nuremberg,  by Tipp & Co. in the early 1930s.

Dimensions: 11-¼ inches (28.5 cm) long.

Age related  markings and scratches with slight rusting  Otherwise, very fine overall condition, clockwork motor does not appear to work

These models are now very difficult to find in any condition and especially with the original rear driving propellor.
